Kendrick Lamar has claimed his second No.1 on the U.K. Albums Chart with GNX, his surprise-released sixth studio album.
The album, released on November 22 without prior notice, achieved its top spot through digital downloads and streaming. Physical releases are expected in early 2025.
This marks Lamarโs second chart-topping album in the U.K., following his 2015 To Pimp A Butterfly. His previous releases, DAMN. (2017) and Mr Morale & The Big Steppers (2022), both peaked at No. 2.
GNX arrives after the success of Lamarโs diss track โNot Like Us,โ which went No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 6 in the U.K., further adding to his banner year.
The rapper narrowly beat Michael Kiwanukaโs Small Changes for the top spot, despite Kiwanukaโs strong physical sales.
Other notable chart positions include Sabrina Carpenter’s Short nโ Sweet at No. 3, Linkin Park’s From Zero at No. 4, and Charli XCXโs Brat rounding out the top 5.
