After three years of anticipation, Netflix has finally revealed a first look at Havoc, an explosive action film starring Tom Hardy and directed by Gareth Evans, known for The Raid.
Hardy is joined by Forest Whitaker, Timothy Olyphant, and a talented supporting cast including Xelia Mendes-Jones, Justin Cornwell, Jessie Mei Li, and more.
In an interview with Empire, Evans shared his excitement about the movie, saying, “It’s a fast-paced action-thriller with nods to Hong Kong cinema.” He promises that Havoc will live up to its name, with plenty of muscle from Hardy’s character, who embarks on a dangerous mission through a broken city. Evans teases, “He’s on clean-up duty, and things don’t go well for a long time.”
Havoc follows Hardy’s character, a bruised detective, navigating the criminal underworld to rescue a politician’s son after a drug deal goes wrong.
Along the way, he uncovers a web of corruption and conspiracy. The film’s intense action will be complemented by a well-developed central performance from Hardy.
While Havoc doesn’t yet have a trailer, the movie is expected to hit Netflix in the first quarter of 2025, with Evans confirming that post-production is underway.
He also noted that no promotional materials will be released before the film is finalized, so fans will have to wait a little longer for more updates. Until then, we can look forward to Hardy delivering a thrilling, action-packed performance.
