Deezer has introduced “Playlist with AI,” a new feature that creates custom playlists based on user prompts. Currently available to 5% of paying subscribers in beta, the tool allows users to generate playlists by describing moods, genres, decades, or activities.
Powered by Google’s Gemini 1.5 AI model, the feature aims to enhance music discovery and personalization. Deezer joins competitors like Spotify and Amazon Music, who have recently launched similar AI-powered playlist generators.
Alexandra Leloup, VP of product at Deezer, highlighted the feature’s ability to curate new musical experiences “within a matter of seconds.” The company has implemented safeguards against inappropriate content in user prompts.
Deezer has not announced when the feature will be more widely available. This launch continues the platform’s focus on AI integration, following existing features like Flow and Song Catcher.
