In an emotional speech at the Money in the Bank event in Toronto, legendary WWE superstar John Cena announced his plans to retire from professional wrestling after the 2025 season.

John Cena, who has been a fixture in the WWE for over 23 years, revealed that WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas next April will mark his final appearance at the annual event.

John Cena expressed his gratitude to the WWE fans, acknowledging their unwavering support and “beautifully brutal” honesty over the years. He promised to make his remaining time in the ring unforgettable, with the 2025 Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania being his last appearances.

The 16-time WWE Champion also shared his excitement about the upcoming transition of the “Raw” brand to Netflix, stating that he has never been a part of the show on the streaming platform and looks forward to being a part of this historic moment.

Cena’s retirement announcement comes as no surprise, as he had previously hinted at his plans to step away from the ring before the age of 50. Beyond his illustrious wrestling career, Cena has also found success in television and film, starring in projects such as “Peacemaker,” “The Suicide Squad,” and “Ricky Stanicky.”

As the WWE universe prepares to bid farewell to one of its greatest icons, fans can look forward to Cena’s final run in the ring, which promises to be filled with unforgettable moments and a fitting tribute to his remarkable legacy in the world of professional wrestling.
