Disney+’s upcoming animated series, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, promises to bring something new to the Spider-Man universe.

Head writer Jeff Trammell claims the show will offer elements that previous Spider-Man series couldn’t. Based on a recently released featurette, Trammell might be right.

The 90-second preview gives fans a glimpse of the Marvel favorites joining the series. Daredevil, voiced by Charlie Cox, retains his menacing presence in cel-shaded animation.

Doctor Strange maintains his mystical aura, while Scorpion appears less like a lizard and more like a high-tech mercenary with a tail. These characters alone are enough to excite fans.

But the show doesn’t stop there. Trammell hints at “different takes on classic characters,” and the preview delivers. A blonde woman wearing a laser-shooting helmet resembles Rhino, suggesting a fresh twist on the classic villain.

The biggest surprise comes near the end of the video, where a Venom-like character appears with claws, horns, and a hairy back reminiscent of Sabertooth.

Executive producer Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt has already confirmed that the series will break away from the MCU canon timeline. These unique character variations could be the show’s way of establishing its own identity.

With fan reactions already positiveYour Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is poised to become a must-watch when it debuts on January 29, 2025. The series promises to remix Marvel favorites while carving out its own path in the Spider-Man legacy.
