Young Thug is back with new music, and it looks like he’s taking shots at Gunna. On January 2, 2025, the rapper shared two snippets of upcoming songs on his Instagram, one of which features a clear diss.
In the snippet, Thug raps, “Never associate with a rat,” followed by, “Go and get some money, get a pack.”
While he doesn’t name anyone directly, fans quickly speculated that the line is aimed at Gunna, following their highly publicized fallout.
The two rappers were once close, but many believe Gunna cooperated with authorities in the YSL case, leading to accusations of him being a “snitch.”
This new song snippet marks the first time Thug has addressed the issue of “rats” since his release from jail. The diss follows similar sentiments from Lil Baby, who has also stated that he avoids working with artists he considers snitches.
Interestingly, despite their fallout, Gunna was one of the few artists Thug requested to work with after his release.
Thugger’s lawyer even praised Gunna as a “phenomenal artist” and mentioned that they were obligated to collaborate contractually.
This raises questions about whether Thug is still harboring resentment toward Gunna or if the “rat” reference is aimed at someone else entirely.
