Xiaomi’s upcoming Mix Flip 2 is generating buzz, with new leaks revealing important details about the device. According to sources from China, the Mix Flip 2 will feature a 5,100 mAh battery.
This is a step up from its predecessor, which had a 4,780 mAh battery. However, it’s a bit smaller than the previously rumored 5,600 mAh to 5,700 mAh battery. It seems the compact design of the foldable phone couldn’t accommodate such a large battery after all.
The Mix Flip 2 is expected to launch between April and June 2025, narrowing down the previous window of a launch in the first half of the year.
In addition to a larger battery, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is rumored to come with several exciting features. It may have an IPX8 water resistance rating, allowing it to withstand immersion in water.
The device will also support 50W wireless charging, which is expected to be faster than many current smartphones. Xiaomi is also focusing on customization options, including features specifically designed for women and a variety of color choices.
The Mix Flip 2 will likely be the first flip-style foldable smartphone to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, offering improved performance.
There are also rumors that it will be thinner than the original Mix Flip, and while it will keep the dual-camera setup, the telephoto camera may be replaced with a 50 MP ultrawide camera.
As Xiaomi continues to refine its foldable phones, the Mix Flip 2 looks set to offer improved design and performance, and it’s one to watch in the foldable smartphone market in 2025.
