Xiaomi has launched the Mijia Washer Dryer Set Pro, a smart laundry system with a 12kg washer and a 12kg heat pump dryer. The set costs 8,749 yuan ($1,237) and will be available in China from December 11.
The washer uses Ultra Electrolysis Technology to remove up to 20 tough stains, including soy sauce and juice. It can also restore yellowed whites in a single wash. Xiaomi says it sterilizes the water path by 99% and removes 99.999% of bacteria, viruses, and mites.
It offers 30 programs for different fabrics, including wool, down jackets, and pet hair. A smart dosing system automatically adds detergent and softener based on load size. A 36-minute Quick Wash saves 33% water and 40% power.
The washer connects to Xiaomi HyperOS and the Mi Home app. Users can control it remotely or with voice commands via Xiao Ai. Other features include drum cleaning at 95°C, antibacterial door seals, interior lighting, and a brushed metal design.
The 12kg dryer uses a dual-cylinder compressor for energy-efficient drying. A small load can dry in 35 minutes, while a 3kg load finishes in 59 minutes. It has a gentle 36°C mode for delicate fabrics. Dual sensors stop the cycle when clothes are dry.
It also offers 33 drying programs, multi-layer lint filtration, ion purification, anti-tangle tumbling, and rack drying for shoes and toys. Noise is low thanks to upgraded insulation.
Xiaomi recently also released a $50 upright vacuum with 22,000Pa suction and a new gas water heater that avoids cold showers.
