Xiaomi is gearing up for the global launch of the Xiaomi 15 series on March 2, but leaks surrounding its successor, the Xiaomi 16 series, are already making waves.
A recent leak by well-known tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed key details about the Xiaomi 16 Pro’s display.
Xiaomi 16 Pro: Cutting-Edge Display Design
According to the leak, the Xiaomi 16 Pro will sport a massive 6.85-inch LTPO OLED panel, offering 2K resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
The phone is expected to feature a flat-screen design with ultra-thin, uniform bezels, giving it a symmetrical, narrow-border look.
This display will utilize LIPO technology, setting it apart from the competition, including Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro, which currently has 1.44mm side bezels and 1.41mm top and bottom bezels.
Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship phone is expected to surpass these dimensions, providing a more immersive viewing experience.
Xiaomi’s Display Evolution: A Familiar Pattern
In recent years, Xiaomi has consistently offered similar displays across its Pro and Ultra flagship models.
For example, both the Xiaomi 12 Pro and 12S Ultra, as well as the Xiaomi 13 Pro and 13 Ultra, featured the same screen sizes.
This pattern is likely to continue with the Xiaomi 16 Ultra, which is also expected to feature the same 6.85-inch screen as the 16 Pro.
In line with recent trends in the smartphone industry, 2025 flagship phones are expected to adopt flat-screen designs, with brands like Oppo also planning flat displays for their upcoming Find X9 series.
Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 Chipset and Future Launches
The Xiaomi 16 Pro is anticipated to launch in October 2025, equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 16 Ultra is expected to follow with the same chip in the first half of 2026.
As the Xiaomi 15 series prepares to make its global debut, the buzz surrounding the Xiaomi 16 series suggests that Xiaomi is gearing up to push boundaries once again with its flagship devices.
