Windows 11 to Get Speed Boost in Upcoming 25H2 Update

Microsoft is taking steps to address ongoing complaints about slow or sluggish performance in Windows 11. Since the operating system’s launch in October 2021, some users have reported that Windows 11 feels slower compared to Windows 10, especially on certain hardware.

To tackle these issues, Microsoft has introduced a new feature in a recent Windows 11 test build that allows the system to automatically collect performance logs. Windows Insider users are encouraged to provide feedback when they experience performance problems. This data will help Microsoft identify and fix the causes more quickly.

These efforts are part of Microsoft’s commitment to improving Windows performance ahead of the upcoming 25H2 update expected later this year. The company has already made improvements in previous updates, including speeding up the Taskbar, notifications, and reducing the impact of startup apps. The 24H2 update last year also boosted performance on older hardware.

Additionally, Microsoft is tightening driver requirements for the 25H2 update. Developers will need to use new tools to check their driver code for issues before release, which should improve system stability and performance.

Overall, these changes show Microsoft’s focus on making Windows 11 faster and more reliable for users.
