Microsoft is struggling to get Windows 10 users to upgrade to Windows 11. With Windows 10 support ending in October 2025, 400 million users with incompatible hardware are at risk.

Recent stats show Windows 10’s market share rose to 62%, while Windows 11 dropped below 37% in the U.S.

This shift follows Microsoft’s 12-month extended support offer for Windows 10, costing $30 per PC, which runs through October 2026.

The TPM 2.0 Issue
Windows 11 requires TPM 2.0 for enhanced security, leaving users with outdated hardware in a difficult position.

While upgrades are allowed on unsupported devices, Microsoft warns this could void warranties and stop updates.

The Road Ahead
With the holiday season approaching, Microsoft’s push for Windows 11 will be crucial. Users are left to decide whether to upgrade hardware or risk security vulnerabilities by staying on Windows 10.
