WhatsApp Hints at Long-Awaited iPad App Release

WhatsApp has just hinted at the launch of a dedicated iPad app, exciting users who have waited years for it. The clue came from WhatsApp’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, which reacted with an eyes emoji 👀 to a post suggesting the app should be available on iPad.

This simple reply suggests that Meta could soon release WhatsApp for iPad, which has already been in beta testing through TestFlight for almost two years. While not officially confirmed, the tease has fueled hopes that the full release is finally near.

Currently, WhatsApp is available on iPhone, Android, Mac, and Windows. But iPad users have had no dedicated app, forcing them to rely on workarounds or web versions.

This move comes as Meta appears to be shifting focus to the iPad platform. Reports also say an Instagram app for iPad is in development. Meta already offers a Facebook app for iPad, but Threads remains iPhone-only for now.

If released, the WhatsApp iPad app would allow users to send and receive messages on a bigger screen with better multitasking support, bringing the app in line with other major messaging platforms.
