Wednesday Season 2 Opens With a Dark and Thrilling First Scene

Wednesday Addams is back, and her summer vacation is anything but normal. Netflix has released the first six minutes of Wednesday Season 2, and fans can now see what’s next for the teenage sleuth. The premiere episode, titled “Here We Woe Again,” aired early at Netflix Tudum 2025: The Live Event.

The season begins with a flashback of a young Wednesday giving a disturbing school presentation about a serial killer case. Now older, Wednesday, played by Jenna Ortega, spends her summer chasing the Kansas City Scalper — a mysterious killer she’s been obsessed with since childhood.

In the opening scene, Wednesday is tied up in a creepy basement filled with dolls. The story quickly flashes back to her wild airport journey with Thing, her loyal disembodied hand. As always, her weapons pass through security, but a tube of sunscreen causes chaos.

After landing in Kansas City, Wednesday tracks down her suspect, a pet groomer named Chet, played by Haley Joel Osment. When she tries to tase him, his touch triggers one of her visions. But something is wrong — she cries black tears. This new twist hints at trouble with her psychic powers throughout the season.

Back in the basement, Wednesday stays calm. Chet shows her a doll that looks just like her, but instead of panicking, she says, “Let me show you some of my own handiwork.” Thing jumps out from a doll, attacks Chet, and Wednesday frees herself, holding a large knife. “Now … let’s play dolls,” she says with chilling calm.

The rest of the mystery unfolds when Wednesday Season 2 premieres in two parts: August 6 and September 3 on Netflix.

Fans can expect more dark humor, unexpected twists, and Wednesday’s signature deadpan style as she faces her darkest summer yet.
