V and Park Hyo Shin’s collaboration, Winter Ahead, was crowned the best K-pop song of 2024 in a fan-voted poll by Billboard.
The track received 50% of the votes, beating out strong contenders. Jung Kook, V’s BTS bandmate, came in second with Never Let Go, while ATEEZ’s Ice on My Teeth, TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s Deja Vu, and aespa’s Supernova rounded out the top five.
V, known for his love of jazz, reached out to Park Hyo Shin to record Winter Ahead, a jazz-infused track written by Jesse Harris, the songwriter behind Norah Jones’ Don’t Know Why.
V’s ongoing musical journey also includes his recent photo book TYPE 1, released in the summer, and his post-military single FRI(END)S.
In 2025, V is set to reunite with BTS after all members complete their military service.
