UK Woman Alleges Sexual Assault During Parasailing Trip in Tunisia

A 52-year-old British woman says she was sexually assaulted while parasailing during a family vacation in Tunisia.

Michelle Wilson, from Southport, Merseyside, told police the male operator groped her, pulled at her bikini bottoms, and pressed against her during a tandem parasailing ride in Sousse.

The alleged assault happened mid-air while she was strapped into a harness with the man, who reportedly spoke to her in Arabic as she tried to resist.

Wilson said she had booked the £6,000 holiday through easyJet Holidays and was parasailing alone with the operator because windy weather prevented her from flying with her friend. Her friend completed the same ride earlier without issue.

Wilson reported the incident to local police upon landing and said she broke down in tears. She believes the man has been arrested, but Tunisian police have not publicly confirmed any arrest or charges. The UK Foreign Office said it is providing support, and easyJet Holidays is cooperating with investigators.

Speaking to The Sun, Wilson said the incident left her feeling “violated and dirty” and ruined her family’s vacation. She was traveling with her 17-year-old daughter, 16-year-old twin sons, and a friend.

The investigation is ongoing.
