Twitch streamer and rapper Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., known as DDG, was unbanned from Twitch just 30 minutes after a call with fellow streamer Adin Ross, who offered him a seven-figure partnership deal with rival platform Kick, according to posts on X. The rapid reversal, reported on July 27, 2025, followed DDG’s latest ban from Twitch, sparking speculation about the platform’s response to Kick’s growing influence.
Details of DDG’s ban were not disclosed, but X posts suggest it occurred shortly before his conversation with Ross, who has been a prominent figure on Kick since his own Twitch ban in 2023.
In a video circulating online, DDG can be seen discussing the potential move to Kick, asking Ross, “If I go on Kick right now, would I make money?” Ross reportedly assured DDG of a substantial deal, prompting Twitch to swiftly lift the ban. Some X users claim Twitch also banned the phrase “I’m streaming on Kick,” though this remains unverified.
The incident has fueled discussions about competition between Twitch and Kick. Ross, who returned to Twitch in March 2025 after a two-year ban, suggested on X that Twitch is “scared” of Kick’s growth, citing DDG’s rapid reinstatement as evidence.
Kick’s lucrative payout model, which offers streamers 95% of subscription revenue and hourly pay based on viewership, has attracted major talent, challenging Twitch’s dominance.
DDG, who has faced multiple Twitch bans, including one in February 2025, celebrated the unban and expressed enthusiasm for streaming again. The event highlights the ongoing rivalry between streaming platforms as they vie for top creators and viewership.
