Trump Plans UFC Fight at White House for America’s 250th Birthday

The UFC may host a major fight event on the grounds of the White House in 2026, according to a spokesperson for the organization. The announcement comes as part of a proposed celebration for the 250th anniversary of the United States’ independence.

Former President Donald Trump, who is set to begin his second term after winning the 2024 election, revealed the idea during a speech in Des Moines, Iowa, on Thursday. “We’re going to have a UFC fight on the grounds of the White House,” Trump said. “We have a lot of land there.”

The event is expected to take place on July 4, 2026. Trump said it may feature a title fight in front of 20,000 to 25,000 people as part of a larger celebration across national parks and historic sites.

The UFC confirmed Trump’s statement but said further details would be announced “in due time.” It remains unclear how far along the planning process is or whether the event is confirmed.

Former UFC champion Conor McGregor expressed interest in participating. “I would be honoured,” he posted on social media. “Count me in!”

Trump has a long-standing friendship with UFC President Dana White, who has publicly supported him at campaign rallies. White joined Trump onstage after the 2024 election to celebrate his re-election.

Trump has deep ties to combat sports dating back to the 1980s, when he hosted major boxing matches at his hotels in Atlantic City. He remains a regular presence at UFC events.
