Tory Lanez was stabbed 14 times in prison, and the man allegedly behind the attack has now been identified. The incident happened on Monday in a California prison where Lanez is serving time.
According to TMZ, the alleged attacker is Santino Casio, a current inmate who is already facing a life sentence. Casio reportedly has a history of violent assaults behind bars and even had six years added to his sentence for a previous incident.
The stabbing left Tory with wounds to his back, torso, head, and face, along with two collapsed lungs. He survived the attack and is currently recovering in a hospital.
The motive for the attack is still unknown, and prison officials have not confirmed any theories so far. Earlier, rumors circulated online suggesting gang involvement, but no official links have been made.
Tory Lanez is serving time for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. He is eligible for parole in 2029, but it’s unclear how this incident may affect his sentence or prison placement.
A prison transfer for Lanez is possible for safety reasons, but that decision will come once he is stable enough to leave the hospital.
