WhatsApp has released a new update for Android beta users — version 2.25.17.27 — through the Google Play Beta Program.
The update is still under development, but it brings an important upcoming feature: the ability to manage message notifications for entire chat lists.
Currently, users have to mute each chat one by one, which can be time-consuming. But with this new feature, WhatsApp will allow users to mute all chats in a specific list with just one tap.
According to a preview shared by WABetaInfo, users will soon be able to tap and hold a chat list, and a new menu will appear with options to mute notifications for the whole list. The same setting will also be available in the list’s settings.
This feature will be especially useful for people who organize their chats into filters — like work, friends, school, or family. For example, you could mute your “Work” list on weekends, or silence classmate chats during holidays.
WhatsApp wants to give users more control and less distraction, making it easier to stay focused by managing chats in bulk. This update will help users stay organized and save time.
The feature is not live yet, but it’s being developed and will be rolled out in a future update.
Stay tuned for more updates as soon as this new feature is ready for testing.
