Xiaomi will end software support for several of its smartphones in 2026. According to updated timelines, 14 devices across the Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco brands will no longer receive updates after their support period ends.
Once support stops, these phones will be marked as End of Life (EoL). This means no more Android updates, no new HyperOS versions, and no monthly security patches. Most of the affected devices are expected to receive HyperOS 3 based on Android 15, which will be their final major update.
Poco Phones Reaching End of Support
Two popular Poco models are on the list. The Poco F5 and Poco F5 Pro will receive HyperOS 3, but that will be their last update. The Poco F5 will lose support after May 9, 2026.
The Poco X5 and Poco X5 Pro 5G will reach end of life earlier, in February 2026.
Xiaomi Flagship Models Affected
Several older Xiaomi flagship phones are also nearing the end of their update cycle. The Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro will stop receiving updates in March 2026.
The Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro will continue a bit longer, with support ending on October 13, 2026.
The Xiaomi 12 Lite will reach end of support on July 1, 2026.
Redmi Budget and Midrange Phones
On the Redmi side, many widely used models will lose support in 2026. These include the Redmi Note 12 Pro, Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi 12C, and Redmi 13C.
Entry-level devices such as the Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ are also included.
What This Means for Users
When updates stop, these phones will still work normally. Apps will continue to run, and the hardware will not stop functioning. However, the main concern is security. Without regular patches, new security flaws will not be fixed, which may increase the risk to personal data over time.
Users who rely on these devices for banking, work, or other sensitive tasks may want to consider upgrading to a newer model before support officially ends.
