The Future of Crypto Gaming: NFL Rivals, GTA 6, and More

GTA Online

The gaming industry is evolving, with blockchain technology playing a growing role in major titles.

From NFL Rivals introducing NFT-based player cards to controversial plans for a GTA 6 crypto server, the discussion around crypto gaming is heating up.

NFL Rivals Goes All-In on NFTs

Mythical Games has launched a Super Bowl-themed promotion for NFL Rivals, its NFT-driven mobile football game.

Players can now collect 30 new player cards featuring Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles stars. These cards come in different rarities and can be earned through packs or in-game campaigns.

In addition to the new collectibles, NFL Rivals introduces real-time events tied to the actual Super Bowl game.

Players can earn rewards based on in-game achievements and even place wagers using in-game items like coins and gems on events such as the coin toss or the final score. This move solidifies the game’s position in the growing NFT sports market.

GTA 6 and the Crypto Controversy

One of the biggest gaming announcements came from streamer Adin Ross, who revealed plans to create a crypto-based custom server for Grand Theft Auto 6.

Partnering with FaZe Clan CEO Richard “FaZe Banks” Bengtson, Ross claims the server will be “completely crypto.”

However, Rockstar Games previously banned cryptocurrency and NFT use in GTA Online servers back in 2022. This led to the shutdown of several fan-made servers, including rapper Lil Durk’s project.

Given Rockstar’s stance, Ross and Banks’ planned server could face legal challenges or even immediate shutdown upon launch.

StepMania Brings Crypto Fitness to Telegram

While GTA 6’s crypto integration remains uncertain, Telegram has embraced blockchain gaming with StepMania.

This move-to-earn game rewards players for their daily steps and plans to launch a token on The Open Network (TON) soon. For now, users can earn in-game coins and raffle tickets for real-world prizes like iPhones and PlayStation 5 consoles.

The Future of Crypto Gaming

Despite some setbacks, crypto and NFT-based gaming continue to expand. Ethereum-based trading card games like Gods Unchained are launching new battle passes, and upcoming projects like What Is This Sorcery are gaining traction through crowdfunding.

While traditional gaming companies like Rockstar remain skeptical, blockchain technology is becoming a key player in the gaming industry. Whether it’s NFT-based sports games, crypto-backed RPGs, or custom in-game economies, the future of gaming is evolving—and crypto is here to stay.

Would you try a crypto-infused GTA 6 server, or do you think Rockstar will shut it down before it starts? Let us know in the comments!
