Taylor Swift has broken another record. At the 2024 Billboard Music Awards on December 12, Taylor Swift became the most-decorated winner in BBMA history with 49 career trophies. She won 10 awards during the event, including:
Before the show, Swift and Drake were tied with 39 wins each. Drake won three awards, bringing his total to 42.
In a pre-recorded speech, Swift thanked her fans and Billboard. She said, “Everything that’s happened with the Eras Tour and The Tortured Poets Department, I just have to say thank you. It means the world to me that you guys have embraced the things I’ve made.”
Swift also called the achievement “the nicest early birthday present.” She turns 35 on Friday.
Swift has dominated Billboard charts in recent years. In 2022, she became the first artist to hold all top 10 spots on the Billboard Hot 100 with songs from Midnights.
Earlier this year, she broke her own record, claiming the top 14 spots after releasing The Tortured Poets Department.
The Billboard Music Awards aired on FOX. Comedian Michelle Buteau hosted the show, with performances by Coldplay, Linkin Park, Shaboozey, and others.
