T.O.P, the former BIGBANG member, will give his first interview in 11 years on January 15.

The interview, scheduled to take place at a cafe in Seoul, will be with a group of domestic reporters and will focus on his role in Squid Game Season 2, which was released on December 26.

Casting Controversy

T.O.P’s casting in the hit Netflix series has sparked controversy. Some accused him of landing the role due to his connections with stars Lee Jung-jae and Lee Byung-hun. However, both actors have denied these claims.

Drug Use and Acting Criticism

T.O.P, who previously retired from the entertainment industry after being sentenced to 10 months in prison with a two-year suspended sentence for marijuana use in 2017, made his return with Squid Game Season 2.

His portrayal of Thanos, a washed-up rapper, has faced criticism, with many pointing out his underwhelming performance.

Public Opinion

While the domestic reaction has been largely negative, international audiences have been more supportive, with many defending T.O.P against what they see as excessive criticism in Korea.

In the upcoming interview, T.O.P is expected to address the controversy surrounding his casting, clarify his retirement statements, and discuss his future plans in the entertainment industry.
