A new indie game called Into The Unwell is now available as a free beta on Steam. This game comes from a new Swedish studio named She Was Such A Good Horse.
The game has the support of Coffee Stain Publishing, the company behind popular titles like Valheim and Deep Rock Galactic.
Into The Unwell is a co-op action roguelite set in a strange cartoon world inspired by 1930s rubber hose animation. Players can play alone, with one friend, or in a group of three.
You control unusual characters who fight against weird, cartoon-style enemies. The gameplay focuses on “whack n’ slash” combat, different from the usual hack and slash style.
As players progress, they unlock new characters, unusual weapons, and special items called Talent Stars. These stars let players use unique powers during the game.
The game will enter Early Access on Steam soon, but the developers have not given an exact date yet. Before the full launch, players can try the game through a closed beta.
To join, visit the Into The Unwell Steam page and register your interest. The developers will send a download link to those selected.
The team behind the game says it celebrates quirks and strange humor. They hope players enjoy the mix of platforming, roguelite, and co-op gameplay.
Fans are also hoping the game will come to consoles in the future.
