Squid Game Season 3 Teaser - Netflix

Netflix’s Squid Game has claimed the title of the most-watched streaming show of 2025, according to new data from Nielsen. The show’s final season was streamed for over 15.1 billion minutes, narrowly surpassing Amazon Prime Video’s Reacher, which reached 13.3 billion minutes viewed.

The data highlights the continued popularity of thriller and action genres, with Squid Game and Reacher leading the charts. Reacher, based on Lee Child’s best-selling novels, adds to Amazon’s growing success in action programming, alongside other hits like Jack Ryan and The Boys.

Streaming Trends in 2025

The Nielsen report reflects current viewing habits in the United States, measuring total minutes viewed on connected TVs and select devices. However, it does not include all major titles, such as The White Lotus and The Last of Us, because they premiered on traditional TV networks before streaming.

These numbers underline the ongoing shift toward streaming as the dominant way people watch TV. Netflix continues to lead with a mix of thrillers, dramas, and comedies, while Amazon and Apple TV+ compete by offering popular action series and high-concept dramas.
