Squid Game Season 2 ― Preview

Squid Game fans, the wait is almost over! Season 2 is set to premiere on December 26, 2024, and it’s kicking off with a bang.

After the cliffhanger finale of Season 1, viewers were left wondering: Did Jun-ho survive? How will Gi-hun take down the deadly competition?

In a recent sneak peek, series creator and director Hwang Dong-hyuk confirmed that fans will get answers right from the start.

“You will get the answer to your burning question about whether Jun-ho died or made it out alive when he fell off that cliff,” Hwang tells Tudum.

The new season picks up with a two-year time jump, and Jun-ho’s fate is revealed. Played by Wi Ha-jun, Jun-ho returns to the series, struggling to adjust to life after uncovering Squid Game’s shocking secrets, including his brother’s involvement as the Front Man.

With no support and no evidence, Jun-ho embarks on a solo mission to expose the truth and stop the deadly games.

Meanwhile, Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae) is also on a mission to end Squid Game once and for all. In the sneak peek, we see him in a grim new living situation, determined to bring the competition to a close, no matter the cost.

Lee Jung-jae shares that his character’s emotional journey in Season 2 is one of the most challenging yet, admitting to feeling a mix of joy and anxiety about returning to such a “traumatized” character.

The tension builds as Gi-hun confronts the Front Man in a chilling face-off. Lee Byung-hun, who plays the Front Man, teases that this confrontation is at the heart of the season.

The Front Man wants to change Gi-hun’s perspective on the world and humanity, but Gi-hun refuses to let go of his hope.

With all seven episodes dropping on December 26, Squid Game Season 2 promises more thrills, danger, and intense battles between heroes and villains.

Will Gi-hun and Jun-ho succeed in their quests? Only time will tell. Stay tuned for more updates and get ready to binge-watch the season when it hits Netflix.
