Square Enix just revealed an unexpected and chaotic new multiplayer game, Killer Inn, at Summer Game Fest 2025 – and it’s dropping a free closed beta on PC very soon.
Developed by Tactic Studios, Killer Inn blends the social deduction of Among Us with the fast-paced chaos of Fortnite, set inside a mysterious castle where 24 players must outwit, outfight, and outlast one another.
How It Works:
- Players are divided into 8 Wolves (killers) and 16 Lambs (innocents)
- Wolves must secretly take out the Lambs, while Lambs must identify and eliminate the Wolves
- Killing a fellow Lamb? Big mistake — you’ll be turned to stone and eliminated
- Clues like clothing or hair color are left behind at murder scenes to help identify the killer
It’s not just about deduction — you’ll need to fight to survive. Think gunfights, melee brawls, grenades, and more, all while trying to figure out who’s on your side.
Even more intriguingly, Wolves don’t know who their fellow Wolves are, adding layers of betrayal, strategy, and chaos to every match.
Key Features:
- 24-player PvP murder mystery gameplay
- 20+ unique playable characters, each with quirks and weapons
- Safe zones and castle escape mechanics for Lambs
- Quest system, token-based shop, leveling, and equipment upgrades
- 3D spatial audio for immersive in-game communication
Players are invited into the deadly game by a mysterious figure from a secretive group called Astra. While it’s technically a team game (Wolves vs Lambs), betrayal and selfish wins are entirely on the table.
The beta will be available soon via Steam, though Square Enix hasn’t confirmed the exact launch date yet. You can register interest now via the official trailer.
No console versions have been confirmed, but fans are already hoping for a broader release.
