Spotify first announced its HiFi feature in February 2021. The company promised to deliver higher-quality audio streaming for its Premium users.
But over four years later, the feature has still not launched. Now, reports suggest Spotify is finally preparing to release HiFi in 2025 as part of a new Music Pro package.
The delay in launching HiFi is mostly due to competition from Apple Music and Amazon. These companies introduced lossless streaming without extra charges, which made it harder for Spotify to offer HiFi as a paid upgrade.
However, Spotify has been working on new deals with music companies, which could help resolve this issue. In the meantime, Spotify has decided to expand the HiFi feature into a larger Music Pro add-on.
This new package will not only offer better sound quality, but may also include perks like early concert ticket access, DJ remixing tools, and special features for specific headphones and speakers. Some rumors also suggest it could have karaoke and the ability to add extra user accounts.
The Music Pro package will likely cost around $5 or $6 more than the current Spotify Premium plan, which is priced at $11.99 per month. Even with the delay, the Music Pro package is looking like a promising addition for Spotify users, especially those who want top-quality audio and other exciting features.
Stay tuned for more details about the upcoming Music Pro add-on, which is expected to arrive in 2025.
