Fans of Marvel’s Spider-Man series can breathe a sigh of relief—Peter Parker is not going anywhere.
Actor Yuri Lowenthal, who plays Peter in the Insomniac Games franchise, has confirmed that the character will remain a big part of Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 and won’t be left out of the action.
Peter Parker’s Role in Marvel’s Spider-Man 3
At the end of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Peter considered stepping back from his role as Spider-Man to let Miles Morales take the lead in protecting New York City.
This left some fans worried that Peter might have a smaller role in the next game. However, Lowenthal has put those fears to rest. In an interview with The Direct, Lowenthal assured fans that Peter Parker is still very much involved in the next game.
“Peter is not gone. He will be a part of the next game and he won’t be relegated to the couch, I promise.”
This means that players can expect both Peter and Miles to take on the action together, continuing the dynamic dual-Spider-Man gameplay introduced in the second game.
What’s Next for the Spider-Man Franchise?
Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 has not been officially announced yet, but its development seems inevitable. Insomniac Games is currently working on Marvel’s Wolverine, but fans believe production on Spider-Man 3 is already underway.
The second game teased Green Goblin as the next major villain, and there are also rumors that Silk could be introduced as a third playable character. However, it remains to be seen how Insomniac will balance these elements without making the game feel overcrowded.
No DLC for Spider-Man 2, But PC Mods Keep Fans Busy
Unlike the first game, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 did not receive any story DLC, which disappointed some fans. However, the recent PC release has led to tons of fan-made mods, allowing players to experience the game in new ways.
From playing as Venom to introducing new Spider-People, the modding community has kept the excitement alive. For now, fans will have to wait for official details on Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, but it’s clear that Peter Parker isn’t going anywhere just yet.
