SM Entertainment, the agency behind K-pop group RIIZE, has announced firm legal measures against those spreading false information and misusing the personal data of its members.
The company confirmed it has filed complaints against individuals who shared false claims about RIIZE members Shotaro, Eunseok, Sungchan, Wonbin, Sohee, and Anton on various online platforms.
Some offenders, including those impersonating the members’ acquaintances, were already referred to prosecutors last year and faced penalties.
SM Entertainment also reported recent cases where personal details of RIIZE members were used illegally to change or cancel their flight seats, causing disruptions to their schedules. The agency said such acts obstruct business operations and warned that legal proceedings are ongoing, with possible claims for damages.
The company is closely monitoring social media and online communities such as DC Inside, Women’s Generation, Nate Pann, Instiz, Theqoo, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube, both in South Korea and internationally. It is pursuing criminal and civil actions against those posting harmful content targeting RIIZE members.
The statement also mentioned malicious posts against the group’s management staff, with plans to take legal steps against defamation and false information. Fans were encouraged to report harmful content to support the agency’s efforts.
SM Entertainment stressed that it will not tolerate any illegal activity involving RIIZE or their associates and will respond strictly under the law.
