Skims’ ‘Ultimate Bush’ Sparks Online Debate After Launch

Kim Kardashian’s shapewear brand, Skims, has sold out its latest product, a faux-hair thong called “the Ultimate Bush,” within a single day of its launch on October 14. The thong retails for $32, and fans can sign up on the Skims website to be notified when it returns in their preferred size and style.

The line includes 12 styles featuring different hair colors and textures, such as “clay blonde straight,” “sienna ginger straight,” and “cocoa black curly.” The thongs are made from “super sheer, stretch mesh” and are available in sizes XXS to 4X. Skims calls it the brand’s “most daring panty yet.”

Kardashian promoted the release on Instagram using retro-style game-show videos. Models held question marks over their pubic areas to showcase the different colors and textures. Kardashian herself did not model the product but highlighted its unusual concept with humor.

The launch drew mixed reactions online. Some users criticized the thong as commodifying the female body, while others praised it as bold and trendsetting. Some noted it could appeal to women experiencing hair loss due to conditions like alopecia or chemotherapy, though this was not Skims’ stated intention.

This release follows Skims’ earlier unconventional product, the Seamless Sculpt Face Wrap, described as the brand’s “first-ever face innovation.”
