Samsung officially announced that its next-generation foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, will launch this summer, likely in early July 2025.
The new phones will come with Samsung’s updated One UI 8 software, based on Android 16. This update promises smoother animations, better AI features, and improved multitasking designed especially for foldable screens.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to have a slimmer design with an 8.2-inch main display and a 6.5-inch cover screen. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and come with 12GB of RAM. The Fold 7 is rumored to feature a 200MP main camera and a 4,400mAh battery that supports 25W charging.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will feature a larger 6.85-inch main display and an expanded 4-inch cover screen. It will keep a 50MP main camera and offer a slightly bigger 4,174mAh battery.
Samsung plans to unveil both phones at a major Unpacked event in New York. The launch will highlight Samsung’s partnership with Google, which helps bring Android 16 and One UI 8 to these devices. Samsung will also roll out this software update to other flagship models like the Galaxy S25 and S24 later in 2025.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to cost around $1,900, continuing Samsung’s premium pricing for foldables. Production of demo units has already started, suggesting that retail availability is close.
In short, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 will arrive with refined designs, better hardware, and the latest software, keeping Samsung at the forefront of the foldable smartphone market.
