A new leak has revealed a major design upgrade for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7—an edge-to-edge cover display. The information comes from a leaked One UI 8 firmware, reported by Android Authority.
Samsung’s Z Flip series has gradually improved its outer screen over the years. The original model had a tiny screen that could only show icons. The Z Flip3 and Z Flip4 added limited text, and the Z Flip5 and Z Flip6 introduced a larger 3.4-inch display with support for apps, though still surrounded by thick bezels.
Now, the Galaxy Z Flip7 will feature a nearly full front display, measuring 4 inches diagonally. The only space not covered by the screen will be for the two rear cameras and the LED flash. This marks the largest and most usable cover display in the Flip series to date.
Other expected upgrades include a larger 6.85-inch inner screen, up from 6.7 inches on the Z Flip6. The new model will also be slightly wider at 75.2mm (up from 71.9mm), while keeping the same 6.9mm thickness.
Battery capacity may see a small boost of 300mAh, and the phone will continue to support 25W charging. The camera setup will likely remain the same, with a 50MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera.
With this redesign, Samsung seems focused on improving usability without dramatically changing the core Flip experience. The Galaxy Z Flip7 is expected to launch later this year, possibly alongside the Galaxy Z Fold7, which will reportedly be even slimmer than before.
