Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Z Flip 7, a major update to its popular foldable smartphone line. The new model introduces a larger cover screen, increased battery capacity, and improved AI features—while also marking the first time the Z Flip series uses an Exynos processor instead of a Snapdragon chip.
Bigger Screens and Slimmer Design
One of the most noticeable changes is the larger Flex Window cover display, which has grown from 3.4 inches to 4.1 inches. The main internal screen has also been slightly increased, now measuring 6.9 inches, up from 6.7 inches on the previous model. Both displays use Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and feature a 120Hz refresh rate with peak brightness of 2,600 nits, providing a bright and smooth viewing experience.
Despite the upgrades, the Z Flip 7 is thinner and lighter than its predecessor. The phone measures 13.7mm when folded and weighs just 188 grams. It is built with Armor Aluminum and a redesigned hinge made of high-strength materials for better durability.
New Processor, More Power
For the first time, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 2500 processor, replacing the usual Qualcomm Snapdragon chip. The phone comes standard with 12GB of RAM and storage options of 256GB or 512GB.
Samsung has also increased the battery size to 4,300mAh, up from 4,000mAh, although the 25W wired charging remains unchanged.
Camera and AI Enhancements
The rear camera setup remains the same: a 50MP wide and 12MP ultra-wide lens. While there’s no telephoto sensor, Samsung has introduced software improvements for better low-light performance and richer colors. New camera features in the Flex Window include Real-Time filters, a zoom slider, and Dual Preview, allowing both photographer and subject to see the shot.
New Software and Samsung DeX
The Z Flip 7 runs on Android 16 with One UI 8, and includes enhanced Galaxy AI features. For the first time on a Flip phone, Samsung DeX is supported, allowing users to connect the phone to a monitor or PC for a desktop-like experience.
Additionally, Gemini Live AI tools are now accessible directly from the cover display, making it easier to use smart features without opening the phone.
Pricing and Availability
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is available for pre-order starting today, with general availability beginning July 25, 2025. Pricing starts at $1,099 in the U.S. Color options include Blue Shadow, Jet Black, Coral Red, and a Mint version exclusive to Samsung’s online store.
