Samsung appears to be bringing back its Classic smartwatch design. A new smartwatch, believed to be the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, has been spotted in the GSMA database with the model number SM-L505U. This version is reportedly for the US market and features cellular connectivity.
The Classic variant has been a fan favorite in previous Galaxy Watch lineups, appearing in the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 6 series.
However, it was replaced by the Galaxy Watch Pro in the Galaxy Watch 5 series and skipped entirely in the Galaxy Watch 7 lineup, which introduced the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Fans of the rotating bezel may have a reason to celebrate, as the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is expected to feature this popular design element.
Samsung typically launches its smartwatches in the second half of the year. Based on its usual schedule, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic could debut in July or August 2025, likely alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7.
While details about the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic’s features remain unclear, its return is sure to excite fans of Samsung’s classic smartwatch design. Stay tuned for more updates as the launch approaches.
