The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, expected to launch on January 22, 2025, has sparked interest with its leaked camera specifications.
However, recent leaks suggest that the camera setup may largely mirror that of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, with only minor hardware updates.
Camera Specifications
The leaked details highlight the following sensors:
Main Camera: 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP2 (1/1.3″, 0.6ยตm-2.4ยตm), f/1.7, 23mm
3x Telephoto: 12MP Sony IMX754 (1/3.52″, 1.12ยตm), f/2.4, 67mm
5x Telephoto: 50MP Sony IMX854 (1/2.52″, 0.7-1.4ยตm), f/3.4, 111mm
Selfie Camera: 12MP Samsung ISOCELL S5K3LU (1/3.2″, 1.12ยตm), f/2.2, 26mm
The only notable upgrade appears to be the ultrawide camera, which features the 50MP Samsung ISOCELL GN3 sensor (1/1.57″, 1.0ยตm pixels), offering improved optical size and pixel performance.
Expectations and Hopes
Fans are still hoping for the inclusion of Samsung’s ALoP (All Lenses on Prism) telephoto design, which promises more compact and advanced optics.
However, the leaked specs suggest that the overall setup remains largely unchanged, apart from the ultrawide sensor.
User Reactions
The response to the leak has been mixed. While some users appreciate the 200MP main camera, others are calling for significant upgrades to the telephoto and ultrawide lenses to justify the “Ultra” branding.
Stay tuned for more updates as the official launch date approaches.
