The Samsung Galaxy S25+ faces an uphill battle in 2025, given its middling popularity in the S-series lineup. Last year, the Galaxy S24+ accounted for just 21% of sales, far behind the Ultra’s 52%.
Despite some upgrades, the S25+ may struggle to stand out, especially with strong competition from rivals and even Samsung’s rumored Galaxy S25 Slim.
The S25+ retains its predecessor’s 6.7-inch LTPO display with QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Camera hardware remains unchanged with a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide, and a 10MP telephoto lens.
Competitors like the iPhone 16 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro offer higher-resolution sensors, leaving Samsung lagging in this area.
The S25+ will debut with One UI 7, featuring a redesigned interface and enhanced AI capabilities. Buyers may receive a free trial of Google’s Gemini Advanced AI service, offering features like cloud storage and premium AI tools.
The rumored Galaxy S25 Slim, with a thinner profile, improved cameras, and the same Snapdragon 8 Elite, poses a significant internal threat. Expected to launch in May, the Slim could overshadow the S25+ unless its price or availability gives it an edge.
Samsung is expected to maintain last year’s pricing for the S25+ across most markets. The device will be unveiled on January 22, with pre-orders likely starting the next day and open sales beginning January 31.
