While the iPhone 17 series is still months away, rumors about the iPhone 18 have already started circulating.
According to DigiTimes, Samsung is developing a new three-layer stacked camera sensor for the iPhone 18, set to launch in 2026.
This sensor, known as “PD-TR-Logic,” promises several improvements, including:

Samsung Joins Apple’s Supply Chain
Sony has traditionally been the exclusive supplier of image sensors for iPhone cameras, but Samsung’s involvement would mark a significant shift. A leaker, “Jukanlosreve,” first mentioned Samsung’s plans last week, adding credibility to the rumor.
Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously predicted that Samsung would begin supplying 48-megapixel Ultra Wide sensors for iPhones in 2026, aligning with the iPhone 18’s expected release.
