Rockstar Reveals GTA 6 Launch Details

GTA 6 ― Lucia & Jason

Rockstar Games has officially announced Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch in fall 2025 for console platforms, with a PC release expected in late 2026.

The announcement came during Take-Two’s quarterly earnings call, confirming years of anticipation and speculation about the game’s development.

The first trailer revealed a narrative centered on Lucia and Jason, a criminal duo reminiscent of Bonnie and Clyde. Set in a modern-day Vice City, the game promises a dynamic open world that captures contemporary social media culture and Miami-inspired landscapes.

Lucia, introduced in prison attire, appears to be the primary protagonist, with Jason serving as her criminal partner.

Early leaked footage and the official trailer suggest a rich, immersive environment that goes beyond previous GTA iterations. The game will feature two playable characters, allowing players to experience the story from different perspectives.

Social media integration and dynamic world elements hint at a more interactive and responsive game world than previous entries in the series.

Rockstar founder Sam Houser emphasized the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of immersive, story-driven open-world experiences. The development team has been working to ensure the game meets and exceeds player expectations, drawing from lessons learned during the production of Red Dead Redemption 2.

The release comes after a significant data breach in 2022 that leaked early development footage, which Rockstar ultimately used to accelerate their trailer release. Despite initial concerns about potential delays, the company remains committed to the fall 2025 launch window.
