The Malayalam film ‘Rifle Club’ has earned a spot in Netflix’s Top 10 most-watched non-English films for two consecutive weeks. Directed by Ashiq Abu, the film ranked eighth on the list for the week ending January 26.
At the top of the list is the French film ‘Ad Vitam’, followed by the Lebanese war film ‘The Sand Castle’ in second place.
‘Rifle Club’ features Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap in a villainous role, which has received widespread critical acclaim.
The film also stars Dileesh Pothan, Vijayaraghavan, Vani Viswanath, Vineeth Kumar, and Suresh Krishna.
Released in theaters in December 2024, the film was a box office hit, winning praise from both critics and audiences.
Set in a hunter’s world, ‘Rifle Club’ follows a group of gun enthusiasts who live by strict codes of honor.
Their lives take a turn when an actor arrives to learn hunting for an upcoming role. Soon, his friends get caught in a dangerous game, with Kashyap’s dreaded arms dealer character chasing them.
Last week, Netflix India’s original show ‘Black Warrant’ also made the Top 10 non-English shows, ranking tenth for the week ending January 19.
The show, based on the book ‘Black Warrant: Confessions of a Jailor’, recorded 2.3 million views in its debut weekend.
