In an unexpected turn, Red Dead Redemption has won the Best Soundtrack Award at the Steam Awards, 14 years after its initial release.

Originally launched in May 2010 for Xbox 360 and PS3, the game only made its PC debut in October 2024, much to the delight of fans who had been waiting for years.

The PC version, developed by Double Eleven, featured several improvements, earning it a spot in the Steam Awards shortlist, where it competed against titles like Frostpunk 2, Silent Hill 2 Remake, and Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition.

The game was also part of the Steam Winter Sale, with a new patch released this month to fix various issues and improve performance.

This win marks the second consecutive year that a Red Dead Redemption title has claimed a Steam Award, following Red Dead Redemption 2’s “Labor of Love” victory in 2023.
