Real Madrid’s Blue Kit Pays Tribute to Juanito and Bernabeu

Real Madrid has revealed its new third kit for the 2025-26 season — and it’s full of history. The all-blue Adidas design, launched on August 3, 2025, pays tribute to legendary player Juanito and the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

The shirt features patterns inspired by the ongoing renovations at the Bernabeu and includes a special message inside the collar. The phrase, in Spanish, reads “Noventa minuti en el Bernabeu son molto longo” — a reference to Juanito’s famous quote from 1986: “90 minutes in the Bernabeu are very long.” The quote reflects the stadium’s tough and intense atmosphere for visiting teams.

Juanito played for Real Madrid between 1977 and 1987, scoring 85 goals in 401 matches. He was known for his fiery spirit and deep love for the club. He died in a car accident in 1992, but fans still chant his name at the Santiago Bernabeu during matches.

The new kit is mainly for away games and European competitions like the UEFA Champions League. It also supports Adidas’ eco-friendly efforts, using recycled materials.

Fans have reacted positively, calling it a “classy tribute” and a “must-have” for supporters. It’s a shift from last season’s purple design and highlights Real Madrid’s strong bond with its history and stadium.

The kit is available now in both long-sleeve and short-sleeve versions at official Real Madrid stores and select retailers.
