A new PlayStation 5 update is bringing a useful change to the console’s home screen, especially for trophy hunters. Sony has quietly rolled out a new widget, which gives players easy access to detailed information about their most recently played game.

This new widget, which is currently available to PlayStation Beta programme members, shows key stats such as game progress, trophies, time played, friends who play, screenshots, and gaming sessions. For example, a user shared that their most recent game, Elden Ring, showed this detailed information in one quick glance.

While the feature doesn’t add new functions, it provides a convenient way to see more about your current game. Fans of trophies will especially appreciate it, as it allows them to quickly check their progress without diving deep into menus.

This update is expected to be available to all PS5 users globally in the next couple of months. Players on the PlayStation subreddit have shared positive feedback, with some hoping for further improvements like transparency for widgets to better view backgrounds.

This update follows other recent enhancements, including the addition of dynamic backgrounds, showing that Sony is still committed to improving the PS5 despite ongoing development of the next-gen PS6.
