PS5 Pro Reportedly the Only Console to Run GTA 6 at 60 FPS

Leaks and insider reports suggest that Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) will run at 60 frames per second (FPS) on the upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro, making it the only current console expected to reach this performance level.

According to multiple sources, Sony engineers are working directly with Rockstar Games to optimize GTA 6 for the PS5 Pro.

This collaboration is reportedly part of a marketing partnership between the two companies, aimed at highlighting the PS5 Pro’s improved capabilities when the game launches in May 2026.

Exclusive 60 FPS on PS5 Pro

The 60 FPS gameplay will be exclusive to the PS5 Pro, while the standard PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S are expected to run GTA 6 at 30 FPS in most cases.

The PS5 Pro will likely offer players multiple graphical modes, including a Performance Mode (60 FPS) and a Quality Mode with enhanced visuals at potentially lower frame rates.

Sources say the PS5 Pro’s improved graphics performance is helping deliver smoother gameplay, but the console’s CPU is not significantly faster than the base PS5. This raises concerns that the older PS5 might struggle with GTA 6’s complex open-world systems, keeping it locked at 30 FPS.

Possible Console Bundles

There are also rumors of special PS5 Pro and GTA 6 bundles planned for launch. These packages could be part of Sony’s marketing strategy to showcase GTA 6 running at its best on the PS5 Pro.

No Official Confirmation Yet

Despite widespread reports from sources like gaming insiders and tech outlets, neither Sony nor Rockstar Games has officially confirmed these performance details. The information is based on leaks and statements from industry figures such as YouTuber DetectiveSeeds.

If these reports are accurate, players looking for the smoothest GTA 6 experience may need to upgrade to the PS5 Pro.
