Prince Andrew is facing a criminal investigation over sex trafficking claims, The Sun can reveal.
Essex Police said they are examining allegations that women were flown into the UK on the private jet of convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Some flights reportedly landed at Stansted Airport’s private terminal, with 15 occurring after Epstein’s 2008 prison sentence.
The former Duke of York, 65, is also linked to claims that women were secretly brought into Buckingham Palace, according to US Department of Justice files. Some victims were allegedly allowed in under the code-name “Mrs Windsor.”
Ex-Prime Minister Gordon Brown described the revelations as “by far the biggest scandal of all,” and former royal protection officer Paul Page claimed Andrew prevented staff from officially logging the names of his visitors.
Thames Valley, Surrey, and Metropolitan Police forces are reviewing the latest Epstein files. Surrey Police said they are seeking access to unredacted documents to properly assess historic allegations.
Andrew has also been urged by former US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to testify before the US Congress about his connections to Epstein. Clinton and her husband, Bill, will appear before the House Oversight Committee later this month.
The National Police Chiefs’ Council confirmed a national group is coordinating the probe and may work with international law enforcement to assess the allegations.
The investigation comes amid wider scrutiny of Andrew’s conduct, including alleged leaks of confidential documents to Epstein during his time as a UK trade envoy. The King and senior royals say they are “deeply concerned” and ready to support police inquiries.
