Google is bringing exciting new updates to Pixel devices following its I/O 2025 event. These updates include Gemini Live integration, a Material 3 Expressive redesign, and a smarter Gemini assistant for Pixel Watch users.
Gemini Live Coming Soon to Pixel
Google will soon roll out Gemini Live features to Pixel phones. With this update, you will be able to:
- Create calendar events using Google Calendar
- Save reminders in Google Tasks
- Take notes in Google Keep
- Get place details through Google Maps
Google says these features will arrive “in the coming weeks.”
Material 3 Expressive Redesign
A new visual style called Material 3 Expressive is coming to:
- Android smartphones
- Wear OS devices
- Popular Google apps
This redesign lets users customize colors, fonts, animations, and interactions to match their personal style. You can try it now by installing the Android 16 QPR1 Beta. The full stable version is expected to launch in September 2025.
Smarter Gemini Assistant for Pixel Watch
Google is also improving Gemini on Pixel Watch. This new version will be:
- More capable and conversational
- Able to create playlists, send messages, and help with daily tasks
This feature will launch “in the coming months.” It’s not yet clear if it will arrive with the Wear OS 6 update.
Free Trial of Google AI Pro
Google is offering a 1-month free trial of the newly branded Google AI Pro. This gives Pixel users early access to advanced AI features.
