No UFS 4.0 Yet? Pixel 10 Pro to Keep 128GB Base Storage

Google’s upcoming Pixel 10 Pro smartphone will reportedly start at 128GB of storage, with higher storage options and color choices available depending on configuration, according to a leak from Droid-Life. The Pixel 10 series is expected to launch in August 2025.

The base Pixel 10 will offer 128GB and 256GB storage options across four color variants: Obsidian, Frost, Indigo, and Lemongrass. However, the Pixel 10 Pro, Pro XL, and Pro Fold models will have more complex combinations of storage and color options.

The Pixel 10 Pro will be available in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage tiers. Notably, the “Jade” color, the only distinct color in the lineup, will be limited to the 256GB variant only, while Obsidian will be the only color to offer the full range up to 1TB. Other colors like Porcelain and Moonstone will support up to 512GB.

This approach suggests Google may not yet be adopting UFS 4.0 storage, which usually begins at 256GB and above, implying continued use of the older UFS 3.1 standard.

The leaked breakdown also refutes earlier rumors of a “Sterling” color variant. Instead, the confirmed color options for the Pixel 10 series are as follows:

Pixel 10:

  • Obsidian, Frost, Indigo, Lemongrass: 128GB / 256GB

Pixel 10 Pro:

  • Obsidian: 128GB / 256GB / 512GB / 1TB
  • Porcelain, Moonstone: 128GB / 256GB / 512GB
  • Jade: 256GB only

Pixel 10 Pro XL:

  • Obsidian: 128GB / 256GB / 512GB / 1TB
  • Porcelain, Moonstone: 256GB / 512GB
  • Jade: 256GB only

Pixel 10 Pro Fold:

  • Moonstone: 256GB / 512GB / 1TB
  • Jade: 256GB / 512GB

The Pixel 10 series is also rumored to include brighter displays, Qi2 wireless charging, and a new chip built by TSMC, marking a major shift from previous Samsung-based designs.
