Peak Devs Tell Fans: Don’t Play That Roblox Ripoff — Pirate Us Instead

Peak Game

The makers of the popular indie climbing game Peak are speaking out against a copy of their game found on Roblox. In a bold message, the developers said they would rather players pirate Peak than play what they called a “slop ripoff.”

The team behind Peak, called Aggro Crab, shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) showing a Roblox game named Cliff that closely copies Peak’s design and gameplay.

“We’d rather you pirate our game than play this microtransaction-riddled Roblox slop ripoff,” the studio wrote.

Peak has quickly become a hit in the indie game world, setting player count records and gaining a large fan base. But with success comes copycats. Developers have noticed several knock-offs appearing on other platforms.

One reason for this, according to fans, is that Peak is currently not available on consoles. This means many players without a PC can’t play the game and may turn to imitations like Cliff instead.

Aggro Crab responded by saying they do want to bring Peak to consoles soon. Until then, many fans say they’d happily pay the game’s low $8 price rather than support a copycat version.

Some fans even urged the developers to ask Roblox to remove Cliff or issue a copyright strike. As of now, Cliff is still available on Roblox.
