Pakistan Blocks Bluesky as VPN Crackdown Intensifies

Bluesky

Pakistan has blocked Bluesky as the platform gains popularity, joining X, Facebook, and Instagram in being restricted.

The government is also cracking down on VPNs, requiring businesses and freelancers to register by November 30, 2024.

There’s uncertainty around whether commercial VPNs will be banned, with some officials calling VPN use “against Islamic law.”

To bypass restrictions, VPNs and tools like Tor Browser remain viable options for now, though service disruptions are possible as the deadline approaches.
