OpenAI has given ChatGPT a significant “creativity” upgrade, making it a more capable and engaging writer.

The latest update to the GPT-4o model has enhanced its creative writing abilities, making responses more natural, tailored, and relevant.

This boost has helped ChatGPT leapfrog Google’s Gemini model, regaining the top spot in the large language model (LLM) space.

Although OpenAI hasn’t revealed many specifics about the update, they mentioned improvements in readability, making the AI more engaging and effective in its responses. It also now handles file uploads better, providing deeper insights into their contents.

This change, which was rolled out without fanfare, enhances GPT-4o’s creativity, improving its performance across creative writing, coding, and even math. Early feedback from users suggests a noticeable difference, with responses feeling more complete and engaging.

The update was tested in the lmarena.ai chatbot arena, where it quickly surpassed the latest version of Google’s Gemini model, taking the lead after just one week.
